A Question
I don't know how to put my AIO wiki logo on the page. Can you give me some help.Peachey Keen 16:38, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I added it for you, you just need to put image:name of image | description between the gallery tags. hope this helps Mark
My Logo
I did my logos on Friday I hadn't had a chance to upload it until today. It's only 8:06am. I still uploaded them this morning and I was wondering if they could still be in the contest.
Theese are my logos:
P.S.
I don't really know who to ask, but you were the first one that popped into my head.
- the deadline was before the 7th but I'll add them in too. Reddo 19:01, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- thank you so much. I really appreciate it. when was the deadline???

Thanks
I found that template after I created that template. If you could delete the one I made, I'd be happy. Erwin Springer 01:45, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Template:Seasonlinks That was me expirementing with templates. You could dlete that too. Erwin Springer 01:47, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you think anything wrong in this template, please fix it. If you could make it so that the first and last seasons could say something like Last Season to Date Erwin Springer 01:55, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Blocking
Hey Mark,
I noticed you block a lot of users (and I'm amazed at how much vandalism/spam you get). But many of these users are IP address and are blocked indefinitely. One's IP address changes all the time, and people can change their own IP. So there is very little chance a vandal will use the cam IP address for a year. A new person will use that address. They will find they cannot edit, even though they have done nothing wrong. On Wikipedia, IPs aren't blocked indefinitely, but usually for a year. This is just a note, you may know something I don't, so this may be pointless. I just wondered. God bless, TheAE talk 04:06, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
User sub-pages
How do you make user sub pages? Erwin Springer 19:54, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- just put a / after the page name, followed by the name of the sub-page, eg: [[User:reddo/testing]], it only works for talk pages and user pages, but if it is needed on other namespaces I can make the changes needed to the server Reddo 19:59, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Like this? Erwin Springer 20:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- You got it Reddo 20:05, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Episodes in multiple albums
I saw in the infobox that we can incorporate only three albums, but I belive that some episodes have many albums such as Connie Comes to Town. Also, how come there isn't a spot to put album numbers in the infobox? Erwin Springer 22:17, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, but what do you mean that an episode wont have more than three album?? Erwin Springer 21:54, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- When I made that part of the template I didn't think that there were any episodes that would be in more than 3 different albums, however as you pointed out connie comes to town is in 6, so I updated the template to allow up to 7 different albums, Reddo 22:46, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I could try to change it myself, but I wouldn't want to mess the template up, or do it wrong. Erwin Springer 23:31, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- If I get time tomorrow, I'll try to go through a group of episodes and add all of the albums for them. Erwin Springer 01:50, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- I thought that iy might be better not to include the word "album" in front of the title automatically or a colon, just make it so that what you would type, would be the full name as the article of the album, because a lot of albums don't start with "album". The first album should stay how it is though. Erwin Springer 20:51, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- I tried to attempt what I sudjested [User:Erwin Springer/episode|here]. I applied it as a template and tested it [User:Erwin Springer/episode2|here]. I would like it if you could update the infobox. I could, but I might of made a mistake. Erwin Springer 21:11, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- I made the changes, your version was very close to what needed to be done, there was just a few extra characters that I deleted - they weren't hurting anything but I`m kind of picky when it comes to having unneeded lines of code (blame my comp sci professor).
- If an album starts with the word album we should be able to get around it using something like this
album2 = Album 00: Family Portraits {{!}} 00: Family Portraits
- I`ve used it in a few other places and it works pretty good. also I made a small change to your user page [User:Erwin Springer/episode2], I removed the first character to break the functionality of the template, it was adding categories to the User:Erwin Springer/episode2 page which then put your user page into a few lists of episodes around the wiki. Your more than welcome to fool around with the way templates look and work, just try to not add any categories to pages, like how our Sandbox Episode works Reddo 06:40, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've created a lot of album pages (for non-mainstream albums), and I would like to update them to a current standard, but they don't have the word "Album". In front of them. So, Thanks again for updating the template! Erwin Springer 14:18, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Redirects
The following is a list of reirects that you may or may not want to delete.
- Album Amazing Stories Series 01: Honesty
- Album Amazing Stories Series 02: Peer Pressure
- Album Amazing Stories Series 03: Sibling Rivalry
- Album Amazing Stories Series 04: Self-Esteem
- Album Amazing Stories Series 05: Friendship
- Album Classics 01: Welcome to Odyssey
- Album Classics 02: A Maze of Mysteries

- Album Classics 04: Bible Eyewitness: New Testament
- Album Classics 05: Comic Belief
- Album Classics 06: Star-Spangled Stories
- Album Classics 07: Drive Time
I had orginally had these albums on these pages, but now that the infobox has been changed, it's no longer necessary to have these pages. Erwin Springer 14:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
You can also delte Album: Adventures in Odyssey (b) and Album: Adventures in Odyssey (a). Erwin Springer 14:52, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
I updated all the episodes up to ep 55 Auld Lang Syne with all of their albums. I used the Odyssey Library as my source, because it seems that it is the most up to date site with almost all albums. Erwin Springer 16:16, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm know up to ep 117 The Trouble with GirlsErwin Springer 19:04, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
When I updated the Odyssey USA album and for some reason, the episode Doing Unto Others was not in numerical order. Erwin Springer 19:31, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting, I think it may be due to the software parsing the {{!}} before it should, but by that logic episode 013 should also be out of place, we can work around it by manually putting in new category sort keys after the infobox, I don't have a lot of time right now but tonight I'll play around with it and see what I can come up with Reddo 21:40, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm up to ep 160 A Rathbone of Contention. Erwin Springer 21:38, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm up to 232: Thy Kingdom Come. At about ep 170 or so, I've been updated the infoboxes too as I go along. I also created these two catogories [:Category:Episodes with old scripture] and [:Category:Episodes with old theme] by using the old templates so we can know which episdos to put info in the infobox. Erwin Springer 18:46, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm up to 273: Two Brothers... and Bernard, Part 2
- There are no pages that link to N/A, so you could delete it.Erwin Springer 21:58, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm up to 419: Another Man's Shoes
- stopped merging the theme and such into the infobox at about Another Man's Shoes. I've been doing albums, and I'm at 557: A Lamb's Tale Erwin Springer 02:27, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Wow you certainly have been busy this weekend, I was planning on helping out a bit more, but some unforeseen circumstances arose. Reddo 08:16, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
ratings
Do you know how to get the ratings to work here? Erwin Springer 23:30, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- done, due to the way that extension is optimized it can be tricky to use Reddo 16:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Template
You should protect this template, beacuse it never needs to be changed. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:27, 24 January 2009
- Also, if you could install sub pages on the template namespace, we could include documentation similar to how they do it on Wikipedia. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:34, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- done and done I also added sub-pages for the project namespace, Reddo 23:09, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- Could you place the text
- done and done I also added sub-pages for the project namespace, Reddo 23:09, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
<includeonly>|</includeonly> <noinclude>{{doc}}</noinclude>
- On that template, that would be great. Erwin Springer [talk] 02:26, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- done Reddo 16:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- something didn't like the include only tags, so i removed them Reddo 16:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Reviews
Are we removing the reviews section on episode pages? Erwin Springer [talk] 14:04, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- We've kind of been back an forth on the issue, they we're in there at the start b/c the page template was pretty much a copy/paste from the soda fountain, we then decided that it would be best to remove them, however then we started using the old poll system which didn't really fit anywhere in the page so we brought back the review section as a place to put them, however we then replaced the old poll system with the new ratings one, once again leaving no real reason for that section Reddo 16:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I think some pages have links to reviews from the aio soda fountain reviews. Is that why you didn't remove the reviews section with Reddobot? Erwin Springer [talk] 16:48, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
staff infobox
Could you put an optional spot for a picture here? I tried put it does something to the font or something. Erwin Springer [talk] 15:28, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I think that i fixed it up Reddo 16:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I did something just like you did, but when I tested it, it turns out like this. Can you fix it Erwin Springer [talk] 00:41, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- What I'm trying to say is that the font got smaller in the infobox. Erwin Springer [talk] 01:47, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- they look the same to me, what browser are you using? Reddo 01:52, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- IE 8 Beta. My screen res is really high (1680 x 1050) Erwin Springer [talk] 02:51, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- I tested it out in IE 8 at 1280 by 800, it does look like they are a different size but I zoomed in on it and they are the same, it may just be an optical illusion that you are seeing or it may look different at higher resolutions, Reddo
- it might not make a difference but which version of IE 8 beta are you using? beta 1, 2, or RC 1? Reddo 16:28, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Look at File:Test.png. I guess it's not a big deal. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:11, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- it might not make a difference but which version of IE 8 beta are you using? beta 1, 2, or RC 1? Reddo 16:28, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry I didn't see this question before. I'm using beta 2. I dhaven't even chaecked if there is a more recent version. Erwin Springer [talk] 23:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- that's the same way it looks like on my screen, what does it look like when it has a picture? I also tested it in beta 2 but I only have 12.1 inch screen Reddo 23:48, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Never mind. I guess I just...I don't do't know. It doesn't matter. You can delete that picture. Erwin Springer [talk] 01:44, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- DON'T dlete the picture. I need the current version for a new contest on the ToO, thanks. Erwin Springer [talk] 23:02, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
staff pages
Just wondering, but why did you create all of those staff pages? Erwin Springer [talk] 01:54, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- it was something that we needed to start on, those pages may look rather bleak right now but over time they'll fill in, they provide a bit of information about the person right now, and the cast and crew category pages have been nicely filled in Reddo 04:39, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
THANK YOU!
Thanks for answering all my questions lately. I'm only a HUGE 13 year old Odyssey Fan! Erwin Springer [talk] 02:17, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Adminship
Hey Mark,
What is the criteria for becoming an administrator on AIOWiki? I know how to be one, I am one on Wikipedia and Wikiquote, so I am wondering what your policy is on what? I only want to be able to edit protected pages (I know what I'm doing with MediaWiki and such), or help out with deletions/blocking if needed. Thank you. American Eagle (talk) 21:48, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- We don't really have any criteria, in the past it's usually been one admin at a time, when something comes up in their life and they no longer have the time needed to be a proper admin, they choose another person to be an admin, and the cycle repeats itself.
- I've been thinking for a while now that we should have some sort of criteria to become an admin, but I'm not sure what good criteria would be
- Some help with admin things would definitly be appreciated as other than Spiderman (whose presence sort of resembles a sine wave), I seem to be the only admin left.
- if nobody has an objection to it I can make you an admin sometime this weekend. From your contributions to the simple English Wikipedia you seem like your trust worthy person who knows a lot about what being an admin means, and have a lot of knowledge about how the mediawiki software works, but I think that we really need to come up with some sort of criteria for becoming an admin. Reddo 22:44, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- Honestly, there shouldn't be criterias. That has caused so much drama on Wikipedia, a lot. Adminship should be only about trust; will the user do good or bad with these tools? I will wait until whenever, or I will accept it if you decide not to flag me. God bless, American Eagle (talk) 03:56, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, I didn't notice it before, but today I checked and saw I was an administrator! Thank you, Mark. :) American Eagle (talk) 22:01, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Admins/Bureaucrats
Are you going to update this page now that their are new security clearence for certain users? Is NateDude24 an admin. It uses the template on his page, but is on not on the mentioned page. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:52, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- done, and no he isn't, I'm not sure why he put that there, I removed it Reddo 21:58, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Templates
Also, their are a few templates that need the doc template added, but are protected. If you could unprotect the pages or add the template, that would be great. One is here. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Town Hall
Just so you know, there is a lot of things that need commenting in the Town Hall and since there is no longer am actor category, this page and the Main Page needs to be changed. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:29, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
User Page
Just so you know, you're user page says
1.work on the radio schedule and episode previews
We no longer have a need for episode previews. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:30, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Image
Do I have to cite were I got the album art for AIO:Live? (I got it from here, then here). Erwin Springer [talk] 22:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- No this is not wikipedia, we don't have to provide notability, references, sources, image licensing, or any off all that useless stuff that wikipedia requires Reddo 00:02, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Why not? Just curious Erwin Springer [talk] 00:27, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- if we start referencing and citing things we'll end up with something like this, something so big and policy heavy that it actually gets in the way of advancement and editing. Many times I've tried to edit and improve an article on wikipedia but it's usually reverted or flagged due it not being notable, incorrectly referenced, or I didn't provide the proper GNU image licensing for it, infact I no longer edit on wikipedia due to it being so policy heavy. Reddo 01:56, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- I see now. Erwin Springer [talk] 02:38, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Prefixes
I know how to use the "w" prefix for wikipedia, but how do you use the prefixes that you have added for the odyssey scoop and other fansites? Erwin Springer [talk] 02:42, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately the rest don't work as well as the wikipedia one does due to the url scheme that they have set up but it's fairly similar. To make a link to the 2009 episodes page on the odyssey scoop like this the code is [[ods:epiosdes/Episodes_2009.htm|this]], the rest of them are all fairly similar, a list of all of them and their basic structure is available here Reddo 02:52, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- That's cool, thanks. Erwin Springer [talk] 13:02, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
