User talk:Jamesobie
Welcome to Adventures in Odyssey Wiki! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the help pages. Again, welcome and have fun! Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 09:08, 9 May 2014 (MDT)
Thank you for joining the wiki! This is just a little list for people who are unfamiliar with certain rules.
1: One of the most important rules of the wiki is not to spam pages. Spam isn't just inserting nonsense or gibberish into random pages; spam also includes posting personal opinions about an episode or a character on their actual wiki page instead of your user profile. Having an opinion about a character or an episode is perfectly fine, but your opinion is not a fact about that character or that episode and therefore is considered spam if stated as episode or character fact.
2: Do not edit other people's talk or user pages. The only time you should edit a person's talk page is if you are talking to them. (There is an exception if you see an inappropriate word, edit that out immediately. Or if someone deleted all of the content besides the user themselves.) For example, if you see the "Help Me" template on someone's talk or user page, and they have been helped, do not edit it out. Ask them or an Admin to do it. If you see a spelling or grammar error on their user or talk page, let them know.
3: Do not post questions on regular pages; post them on the talk pages.
For a complete list of how we do things here on the wiki, see Adventures in Odyssey Wiki:Manual of Style.
Again, thank you for joining the wiki, and good luck! ~~~~ - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
Questions
How do I become an Administrator? How did you know the names of the future OAC episodes, and why do you group the Lone Lawman as a KYDS radio episode? How many users, admins, bureaucrats, etc r OAC members? None of the Odyssey Adventure Club episodes have plots, is there a reason? Should I add some, because I have heard them all, being an OAC member?Jamesobie (talk) 07:15, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
- Okay, I just combined all your questions...hopefully that is okay. Administrator status is decided by User:Reddo, who runs the server. As for for how many users, admins, bureaucrats...check out Special:ListGroupRights. As to the OAC episodes, I am not sure how we got the names...either they were released at some point (most likely the answer), or a user was in the OAC, and sometimes (not in this case) Reddo gets information from AIO (such as the schedules). As to the plots, we would love to have them added. We don't have to worry about spoilers in that we have the warning tag on each episode; therefore, visitors will look at their own risk. As to why we don't have them, its a matter of someone actually doing them. It's also the reason some older Odyssey episodes do not have indepth plots. Is there anymore questions?
- P.S. A general rule of thumb on the wiki is that you can edit a user's talk page for questions but generally not their actual user page unless permission is granted.

Can you fix the errors on the Aio Fansite page? When I created it, there's were a few mistakes. Is this site powered by html or JavaScript? Thanks!Jamesobie (talk) 03:37, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
- Sure, I was wondering what was up with some of the content on that page. I am pretty sure this is JavaScript. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 16:43, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
REDDO!
What would it take for me to gain admin status? Jamesobie (talk) 03:36, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
How to:1
How do I add an image to some of the episodes? I do better on HTML than on JavaScript, so I'm not sure what to do. Jamesobie (talk) 03:36, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
- I am assuming you are talking about just adding an image to the text of an episodes such as the one on #108: “Isaac the Courageous” and not in the infobox. If so, simply type the following...[[Image:Example.png|px=100|left]]. Example.png is replaced by whatever the file name is...it could be saac-the-courageous.png or Nicholasguest3.jpg, etc. px=100 is how you can resize an image, you may leave that blank and it will size the image at whatever pixels it was uploaded as (which could be substantially bigger than desired). And lastly the image defaults on the right side of the page. So if you want it left or center, simply type that next.
- P.S. Another option is to click on the 5th button on top of the editing screen that says embedded file, in which it will ask for filename, caption (if you want it), and sizing. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 16:43, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
I Love Aiowiki
I love this site! Who created it?Jamesobie (talk) 03:35, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
- The creator of the AIOWiki is known throughout the AIO community as Shadowpaw. He is also the creator of the AIO Soda Fountain and the forum known as the ToO. He doesn't edit much (last substantial textual edit was back in 2007) as everyday maintenance is done and has been done by User:Reddo for quite sometime; however, just last month the server that all of those sites run on had major issues so Shadowpaw had to work on getting everything back up. Why I Deleted the Picture of Nick Mulligan
The picture was just the former picture Jason Whittaker with a few edits (like blonde hair, and the red shirt). So user Nick Mulligan, don't get mad at me about it.Jamesobie (talk) 07:27, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
- That was a good catch, I asked User:Nick Mulligan to verify the origins of that image because I suspect that you are right. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 16:43, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
Hey Stop Wooton Around, here is the link to the real picture of Jason, which that bogus Nick Mulligan pic was based off: http://www.aiowiki.com/wiki/File:Jason.gif Jamesobie (talk) 22:35, 10 May 2014 (MDT)
Please
Please don't edit another user's user page...only their talk page. The user page and the content on it are all under their discretion. If you see a mistake or want to make a suggestion please leave it on their talk page. Always, always, ask before editing a user page. Thank you! Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 10:32, 11 May 2014 (MDT)

Your Recent Edits
Okay, first off, did you check the wiki style page? Cause you added a quote completely wrong. And second, stop inserting spam into pages-and not just that, stop editing pages and putting your signature in them. I am sorry, I know you are new and don't understand how we do things, but you'll get it eventually. - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
Admin
Hey, I noticed you were already asking to be an admin, almost everyone waits at least a year before even thinking about asking, as it is earned by loyalty and good and knowledgeable edits. Sorry to put you down, kid, but you're not going to become an admin anytime soon. You need to learn how to edit correctly, (Quotes, putting stuff in the right spot on pages, not editing other people's user pages, not putting spam on pages such as "A funny name for this episode would be "Issac the Chicken" or "Jason Whittaker will crash into a garage in this album", etc) and you need to be trusted (And I mean really trusted). Maybe you can make it some day. Good luck. -Your very own wiki edit critic, - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
Sorry!
Sorry about that. But some of that was not spam! I am actually writing my own fan episode, and I have some top secret info on the next album that not many people know about! Please restore my pages A Jamesobie Unexpected, and Jamesobie!

- Look, if you are trying to make your own AIO episode (BTW you need to ask Focus before you publish it or whatever) that's not bad, but as it is not part of AIO it doesn't belong on the wiki. And even if you "Know stuff about the future albums that other people don't," "Jason Whittaker will crash into a garage in this album" etc, does not belong on the album page or his page, or anywhere but your user page. Good luck. - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
- You can make it a section under the page about your website as a new episode but not in the same character as the rest of the episodes. Thanks for your apologies! Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 11:49, 13 May 2014 (MDT)
- I am reiterating what I said before...I am perfectly okay if you include this all on you specific page. We do allow this content in certain areas such as your page. Look at say fan-based podcasts. We included information on The Ceiling Fan. The only individual pages for each podcast is reserved for the official podcast. I believe we run into issues if we start creating a page for every fan created podcast, episode, video, etc. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 20:56, 18 May 2014 (MDT)

Gaberk
Hey, we already talked to Gaberk about the picture, I believe. But anyway, if you have a problem with someone's picture or something, bring it to an administrator, don't just try to make them feel bad, or tell them that they aren't anti-spam. A picture like that isn't necessarily spam. Also, they have been around much longer than you. We all appreciate your dedication to the wiki, and we understand you're somewhat new, but until you understand the wiki and what to do and what not to do, we'll need to keep correcting you. Again, good luck and thanks for your dedication to the wiki. - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
- I understand if you think that Jamesobie, but I hadn't known about the policy for pictures when I created it. Gaberk 08:59, 30 May 2014 (MDT)
The Picture of Jules Kendall
Stop changing it back. It is definitely Jules Kendall. - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
Thirty Jays Hath September
It is quite rare when I ask someone directly to stop making a certain edit, but this is an exception. Please stop adding the information about a burger-related song in #747: “Thirty Jays Hath September”. It is unnecessary and superfluous, and even if the episode had aired already to confirm that this is verifiable fact, the information would not only not be placed in the notes, it likely would not go in the article at all. TigerShadow (talk) 18:47, 3 June 2014 (MDT)
Stop
You need to stop changing David Parker's picture. As I already said, upload a separate picture. Scroll down, click on "Toolbox" and select upload file. - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
Re: The Ties That Bind
The only site that corroborates this evidence is your own, and I am therefore inherently wary of it; that site could say anything that you want to make it say. Additionally, an album's episode titles are among the most highly-in-demand spoilers in the months leading up to the release of the album, and I therefore doubt the veracity of what you were told or were not told—Focus would release those episode titles publicly to multiple parties, not simply through an e-mail to one person. Perhaps you are right, but perhaps you are not, and we have to wait until we can get conclusive evidence from multiple parties before we put this information out onto a wiki to which many people look for verifiable AIO facts. TigerShadow (talk) 23:04, 17 June 2014 (MDT)
- Just relax. I'm not accusing you of anything one way or another; what I'm telling you is to wait. The two are not mutually inclusive. No, I am not your boss, and I am not attempting to be. I am, however, a user with—and you ought to know that I hate to pull the age card, so to speak—more editing experience than you have, and I know that Reddo and Stop Wooton Around would not want to take this information at face value like sheep with no other point of reference. TigerShadow (talk) 23:17, 17 June 2014 (MDT)
Assistant Editor
I would really love to (and yes I have a google account), the problem is I have a summer job at a factory, in which I get up at 5:30 in the morning. So I really don't have a lot of computer time (other than right now because I have college orientation in the morning). So, the short answer is that I don't believe I really have enough time right now. Sorry. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 20:03, 18 June 2014 (MDT)
- I also have to decline. If I would become your assistant editor, I would have to be committed to the site and putting up new content regularly. I would enjoy it, but I don't feel I can take on this commitment right now. To accept and then not be able to help that much would be unfair to you and your readers. But I do thank you for asking and sorry for not getting back right away. AIOCREfan ~ (talk) 05:42, 20 June 2014 (MDT)
AIO Update
Hello Jamesobie. I found your site on the AIO Wiki's List of Websites. Thanks for visiting my site. As for your request for me to be a co-editor of AIOFansite, I have to say no. I'm sure you'll recall the lesson Connie learned in #199: “The 'No' Factor”. I simply have too many commitments and other projects I'm involved in to take any more on at this time. But thanks for considering me. DavidHilder (talk) 10:35, 22 June 2014 (MDT)
Hello Jamesobie. If you do not mind, I would first like to know what I will have to do if I accept and about how much time and commitment it might take. Thanks. JasonWhittaker (talk) 15:00, 1 July 2014 (MDT) Oops! Sorry, I forgot to mention that I do not have a Google account. God bless and thanks for inquiring. JasonWhittaker (talk) 15:16, 1 July 2014 (MDT) Sorry, I looked at my schedule and I am afraid I may not have enough time. Thank you for inquiring, and I hope you will find someone to help you. May God bless you, and thank you again. JasonWhittaker (talk) 11:37, 2 July 2014 (MDT) By the way, Erwin Springer's answer is on his page under your question. Just thought I would let you know. Bye. JasonWhittaker (talk) 11:44, 2 July 2014 (MDT)
Album 5 Art
While Richard Maxwell did burn down the barn, if you refer to to the images 05-preview2.jpg and 05front-gold-tape.jpg, you will see that in the previous version of the album art, they had Blackgaard standing on a hill watching the fire burn. They did the same thing for the new art, except you can't really discern who he is since it is so far away. AIOCREfan ~ (talk) 07:38, 3 July 2014 (MDT)
Credits
Since you're in the OAC and have access to #751: “The Ties That Bind, Part 1”, do they give the credits at the end? They didn't when they released it on the Whit's End Podcast. If they did, do you know who voiced Juan Reyes and any other characters whose actors are unknown? TigerShadow (talk) 13:47, 7 July 2014 (MDT)
- Cool, thanks! I kept trying to place the guy who voiced Juan Reyes, because he sounded really familiar, but the credits didn't play, so it's kind of been bugging me. TigerShadow (talk) 17:54, 8 July 2014 (MDT)
categories
Hi, I noticed you've made a few category pages recently, for categories we have a very specific format to follow, but we've also made a little script to help out in making them If you go to your preferences, then click gadgets, click the box beside Mabel and save. Next time you come across a category that hasn't been made yet Mabel will try to do everything by herself Reddo (talk) 10:37, 12 July 2014 (MDT)
Re:Hey.
I don't know why you would bring that up, but I guess I'll take it as a compliment--Gaberk 08:06, 24 July 2014 (MDT)
The ToO
I noticed you got an account on the ToO. I'm on there too, although I don't get on much anymore. :/ A word to the wise, though, you might also want to look into the Soda Shop. The ToO is now mostly pop culture and random religious debates; there's not a whole lot of AIO discussion going on over there (I don't hate the ToO; it's just no longer really a place for a lot of good AIO discussion). The Soda Shop is largely made up of AIO discussion threads, and there's lots to talk about. :) Especially if you're looking to promote your fan site—I think more people will be interested over on the SS than the ToO.
