History

Hunk was a runaway slave. He was hiding in a shack when Jimmy Barclay happened upon it. Initially when Jimmy walked in Hunk gagged him to keep him quiet. Later on when Confederate soldiers arrived, Jimmy told Hunk and his friend Moes to hide under some potato sacks while Jimmy distracted the Confederates. The arrival of Union forces caused the Confederates to leave.
