First Song in Album | The Electric Palace Do-Dah Song | You Have the Right >> |
The Electric Palace Do-Dah Song appeared in the radio show Odyssey Sings! (album 45) and was sung by Bart Rathbone with music by Wooton Bassett. Bart did it as a way to promote his electronics store, The Electric Palace, on the TV show "America Sings".
Notes
- The song is an obvious spoof off of Camptown Races. The original music and lyrics to the song were composed by John Fornof and the music was arranged by John Campbell. For the aired version of the song, Bart was interrupted before he could finish the song, so the entire song was not aired. However, you can hear the entire thing in a bonus track that has been included in the album. Also, for the aired version, John Campbell's music was not used, because the sound designer for the show, Jonathan Crowe, wanted live music in the final cut of the show, so live musicians were brought in.
