History
Carl's ancestors were slaves that ran away in 1849. Their story is told The Underground Railroad, Part 1 and The Underground Railroad, Part 2 , and The Underground Railroad, Part 3. He is a curator for a museum in Chicago where he was able to obtain the manuscript telling the story of his family and their run from the American south to freedom in Canada. After finding the map in the basement of Whit's End, he took it home as a family heirloom.
