History
Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States--and the tallest at six feet four inches. He was born February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He was a lawyer in Springfield, Illinois for twenty-four years before moving to the White House. Mr. Lincoln served in the U.S. House of Representatives in Congress, the Illinois State Legislature, and ran for Senate twice but lost. He served as President from 1861-1864, then was reelected and served until his assassination in 1865.
Family
Mr. Lincoln married Mary Todd on November 4, 1842. They had four sons: Robert Todd,(1843-1926), Edward Baker,(1846-1850), William Wallace,(1850-1862), and Thomas, also called 'Tad',(1853-1871).
