Trivia
  • Whit's words of wisdom in the opening scene about following God's will in response to a need is strongly reminiscent of a similar discussion in #367: “The Decision”, in which he convinces a group of friends, including both Eugene and Joanne, that rushing off to another needy area identified by the Missions Board isn't necessarily God's will for any of them. (The one who would travel there would be Dan Isidro.)
  • The dialogue between Eugene and Katrina from this episode during the hospital scene as Eugene wakes up, with Eugene quipping "did [he] go somewhere?," mirrors a similar exchange between Glenn Adams and Whit at Hal's Diner in #369: “It's a Wrap!”.
  • Young Eugene is portrayed in this episode by Shane Baumel, the actor who also portrayed Eugene's younger brother Everett just a few episodes prior in #613: “The Top Floor, Part 3”.

Goofs
  • Leonard Meltsner wakes up from surgery and minutes later takes a walk. After a major surgery, a patient typically can walk around only slowly and with assistance. Later, when Eugene is bored, Katrina doesn't allow him to do more than check the messages on his voicemail, but Leonard has already visited Whit's End.
