The Edu-Link was an invention first introduced in #584: “Dead Ends”.

Description

The Edu-Link was conceived by Whit and Jason as a new means of both foreign evangelism and education. It is a combination computer, transceiver, phone, and projector--it is not new technology, as Whit puts it, but "a new way of combining technology". It produces a holographic image that can be transmitted even across oceans, as demonstrated in #589: “The Impossible”, when the Edu-Link transmitted an image of Marvin Washington in Odyssey across thousands of miles to India, where it was being tested as a potential candidate for both educating and evangelizing to the children there. It can be produced inexpensively, making it an easier investment for poorer countries.

The Edu-Link was replaced with Eugene's invention Egghead in The Launch, Part 1, with the explanation that the Edu-Link is outdated technology.

By today's standards, the Edu-Link can be considered the equivalent of a tablet computer which has all the capabilities of the Edu-Link.
