Thoughts? - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~ 15:24, 11 May 2014 (MDT)
- Good thinking. We all need that reminder now and then. I did edit the definition of spam because I thought it needed to be broadened a bit to help define it more clearly, but other than that, I think you did a nice job. TigerShadow (talk) 16:55, 11 May 2014 (MDT)
- We already have a template for this...Template:Welcome; therefore, I think these rules should be added to that template. As such because that template is automatically added to the person's user page when we accept new users. So, I would suggest that we simply add it to that template, rather than making a completely new template. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 18:30, 11 May 2014 (MDT)
- I understand where you're coming from, Woot'n, but that doesn't really say the stuff I put on this template. And this is just for users like Gaberk and Jo-whatever, who edit and have to have most of their edits undone.
- Thanks, Tiger! - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~ 20:09, 11 May 2014 (MDT)
- The Welcome template doesn't define in a clear-cut way what the rules are, but if we combined these two, that would accomplish that task, since, as SWA says, the welcome template is automatically added and there would thus be less hassle. Besides, since it would be added to the welcome template, that would (if I'm not mistaken) change the way it looks on other pages that already have the template, so that we can also have the guideline reminders on our pages—after all, it's not just the newbies who need a push in the right direction now and then. - I agree with TigerShadow because all new users could use the information. I mean for the IP address we have guidelines, so I don't think it should be any different. I also don't see the point in having two separate templates. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 20:35, 11 May 2014 (MDT)
- I guess combining the two would be like a last resort for me, your template doesn't explain the few rules or link to the style page. I think this should just be put on people's pages who don't understand the rules. And Tiger, what is SWA? - Sunnys <BIBLE|-- ~Talk~
- Actually, it's because the welcome template isn't informative enough that I think the two should be combined. Besides, what's the good of having rules if only the people who break them are made aware of them? These should be here as reminders for all users, both old and new. (SWA is an abbreviation for Stop Wooton Around because I didn't feel like writing out the whole username. It's like calling me TS, for example.) TigerShadow (talk) 08:07, 12 May 2014 (MDT)
