We appear to have a contraction. Both this episode and #265: “War of the Words” claim to be the final episode recorded by Hal Smith before his death. I was under the impression this was indeed his final episode, since the very next episode announces conveniently that Whit is out "running errands." Whit should be in that episode, since it's a follow-up to this one: the writers would be unlikely to write out Whit completely given his role here. Of course this assumes that the two episodes were recorded chronologically. Crnel (talk)

Yes, that is assuming that they were recorded chronologically. #271: “The Secret Keys of Discipline” also has this note.
