History

A favorite band of Wooton, The Pool Boys were originally known for performing their songs entirely underwater. In Wooing Wooton, Wooton mentioned that they'd broken up.

However, in #826: “Find a Penny, Part 1”, Wooton got to sing with them in London. Apparently they'd reunited and were now singing in regular air. From the sound of their lead singer, they are probably from Australia.

Background

The Pool Boys are based upon a high school era work by Marshal Younger called the Bathtub Show which consisted of Marshal Younger conducting interviews while fully clothed in a bathtub. He would interview famous guests, also in the bathtub (though off-camera). The show format included ending each show by singing a song underwater.
