Kenny Rutherford

Kenny is a very talented author who writes a detective novel series. However, he has lived life with an intense guilt because of the cheating he committed against Dale Jacobs over 25 years ago. Following Dale's forgiveness of his transgressions Kenny learned to forgive himself.
History
Kenny attended Odyssey Middle School over 25 years ago at the same time as Dale Jacobs. While the two were always competing against each other in some way they had a normally good if not neutral relationship with each other. However, when the two entered a short story competition against each other, Kenny cheated as he was involved in some of the administrative work for the competition. The result is that Dale lost the competition and Kenny won. However, out of guilt Kenny put a packet of puzzles in Dale's locker which went undiscovered for over 25 years.
In 722: The Lost Riddle, Matthew Parker helped Emily Jones discover the lost puzzle packet. The subsequent search finally led Dale to come to Kenny to find out why he'd written the packet in the first place. After Kenny finally confessed what he'd done so long ago Dale forgave him without hesitation. When he asked how he would repay Emily and Matthew for discovering the packet, Emily suggested entering herself and Matthew in a future novel. It has yet to be revealed whether or not he indeed did so.
Family
He mentions his parents during his time in middle school.
