Create

How exactly do you create a logo? the instructions are confusing! --AREM Meltsner 08:30, 8 November 2011 (MST)

Well this contest is primarily for those who are graphically creative and have some sort of experience with design. The instructions are only for uploading, as the creativity and design are completely up to you with rather lose rules. If you'd like to enter, you must have some sort of program which renders and exports transparent PNG graphics. You can download GIMP which is a great open source (therefore free) option to create digital images and create a logo however you'd like. You must read the instructions as to how to upload it for it to show up as an entry. Unfortunately, however, the logo you uploaded does not comply with the contest rules, not having a transparent background, and will not be included either way. Contest- background

Hi, exactly what do you mean by "transparent background" and how does one accomplish such a thing? Thanks.

Graphics can have transparent backgrounds, as opposed to white or any other color, if they are created using certain software and exported using certain file types. For the purposes of this contest, we are requiring you upload PNG files. You can read the instructions I gave above for creating a logo if you'd like. For your logo to be eligible, it must follow all of the rules; restricting the creation of the logos to certain programs. To my knowledge, there are no programs that come pre-installed on standard computers that can create graphics with transparent backgrounds.

First of all you need to calm down and stop yelling. The reason your second entry is there twice is because you uploaded it overtop of your original image you can see this right here File:Logo_contest_2011_AREM_Meltsner.png#filehistory don't blame others for your edits.

Secondly your entries currently don't qualify for two reasons. Straight from the rules section at the top of the page "Your logo must be square (e.g. 300px by 300px)," and "Your logo must be in a PNG file format and have a transparent background" your images are not square (960 x 720) and your background is not transparent.
