3-18-99 is the combination for Ernest McAlister's master safe in the house now belonging to the Washingtons. The safe was behind a painting in the hallway of the second floor. Before Ernest died, he confided the number to Lester, the man living with him. Ernest was a miser, and kept all of his money, deeds, and his will in the safe. Ernest stressed that the number was to be kept a secret so much, that the number became Lester's chant for whenever someone asked him a question he thought was secret, or that he didn't want to answer. The real meaning of the number finally came to light when Mac heard Lester say it, and realized what it meant. Mac was about to open the safe, when Lester distracted and trapped him. The contents of the safe were then dealt with legally.
