Plot
(continued from #524: “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow?, Part 2”...)
AREM visits Mitch and Connie on the computer. They’re both very confused because Mitch is AREM! They start typing back and forth and the person claiming to be AREM tells Mitch to stop investigating now before it’s too late. Mitch wonders if it’s Agent Bourland testing him. Connie thinks he shouldn’t assume that it’s not the person who has really been using him and Whit. In the same conversation, Mitch asks Connie again if she’ll marry him. She says she needs time to think and pray about it.
Mitch talks to Whit about the mysterious AREM visit. He decides to keep investigating to get to the bottom of it.
Meanwhile, Connie is working at Whit's End when her mom comes to visit. June apologizes for what she said in their conversation the day before. She told Connie that Mitch came by to ask for her hand in marriage. Connie was surprised, but pleased, that he asked for her permission. June tells her to listen to God and to her heart. She has to make her own decision about whether to marry Mitch.
Mitch and Whit travel around Odyssey talking to the security guards that worked at the warehouse. The only one left is Rudy Sutton, who is also the prison guard working with Mr. Charles. They decide to wait another day to go talk to him.
The next morning, Mitch and Whit visit Rudy’s house. Mrs. Sutton answers the door and lets them in, but Rudy isn’t home from work, yet. They visit for a while and find out that Rudy just bought a new computer and also bought Edith a car. They think that Rudy is the man they’re looking for.
After looking at Rudy and finding out that he works at the prison, they realize that the real person who connects everything together is Mr. Charles. The computer business calls Mitch once they’ve found where his computer was worked on. It was sent to the prison, where Mr. Charles must have worked on it. Rudy got involved because Mr. Charles would have needed help getting the computer details and internet access.
Mitch calls Agent Bourland to tell him what he’s found, but the FBI has already found out about Mr. Charles. When the FBI had gone to the prison, they found that he’s escaped. Mitch, Whit, and Agent Bourland go to the prison to talk with the prison warden. He told them that they think he escaped in the laundry truck and the personnel are on the lookout. Mitch says that would be too easy.
After learning that one of Mr. Charles’ duties was the garbage, they decide to go check out the dump. They didn’t find anything, but a policeman calls Bourland telling him that someone just ran one of the roadblocks. Mitch goes to check out he abandoned service station on a dead end road. Mr. Charles and Rudy are there. Rudy tasers Mitch and he falls to the ground. Then, Mr. Charles tasers Rudy and puts them both in the trunk of Mitch’s car. Mitch comes up with the idea to stick his hand out the taillight to get someone’s attention. Mr. Charles is caught once again.
Connie and Mitch go to have dinner at Frank’s Breakfast Inn. He once again asks Connie if she’ll marry him and she says that she wants him to join the FBI because it’s what he loves. He asks her to come with him and she said that they’ll have to take it one step at a time.

Quotes
Connie Kendall: Mitch, how can that be AREM, when you're AREM?
John Whittaker: Bye bye, Edith
Edith Sutton: Bye bye... cutie pie.
Robert Mitchell: <mockingly> "Cutie pie."
John Whittaker: Tell no one.
Bennett Charles: Well done, Mr. Sutton. Those tasers are amazing inventions.
Connie Kendall: I think they have to call it escargot because, like, who would order "a la dead snails in butter?"
Robert Mitchell: He's a resourceful man... in a dirty, conniving, unscrupulous kind of way.
