Summary
Odyssey is abuzz when a national treasure--a scale model of the Statue of Liberty--comes to town... and promptly gets stolen!
Plot
The "Celebration of Liberty" Traveling Exhibit has come to Odyssey, courtesy of John Whittaker. The primary attraction of this exhibit: an original model of the Statue of Liberty, valued at over $7 million. Unfortunately, the priceless piece of history attracts more than just art-loving citizens, and is stolen right through the fingers of the nationally-recognized Collins Security Agency.
When Sgt. Beverly Collins and the Odyssey Police investigate the crime, it appears that Nick Mulligan may have stolen the figure! Though Nick attempts to shift the blame by lying about his whereabouts, the truth comes out via Whit’s security videotape. Though Nick is proved innocent of the crime, his relationship with Whit is damaged by untruthfulness.
The following morning Whit and Nick arrive at Whit's End and discover that someone has broken in, and stolen the security videotape! However, Whit’s new audio monitoring system comes into play, leading to new suspects, a kidnapping, and an important lesson in truth and trust.

- This episode features several interesting connections to the Novacom saga:
- The security cameras that were installed in Whit's End during the saga are used again here.
- Whit refers to the break-in at Whit's End and the theft of the Imagination Station in #492: “Twisting Pathway” when talking to Nick about the phone recorders.
- This is the second episode in which Nick forgets about another character's aversion to nuts. He previously angered a Novabox-affected Alex Jefferson by putting nuts on his sundae in #494: “Box of Miracles”.
- Rodney Rathbone's allergy to macadamia nuts heard in this episode was originally established in #466: “Snow Day”.
- The skylight at Whit's End makes its first episode appearance in this episode after 9 years, having been featured last in #306: “A Victim of Circumstance” when it was originally installed (and broken by Rodney Rathbone).

Sgt. Beverly Collins: Quinn! How did he know? Who could've tipped him off?!
Nick Mulligan: <through the phone> That would be me!
Nick Mulligan: Another typical day in Odyssey.
John Whittaker: You know, it's something I've seen over the years—the truth will set you free, but a lie will always catch you.
Nick Mulligan: I hope I can someday win back that trust you were talkin' about.
John Whittaker: Nick, you're well on your way.
